I wanted to share with you that I'm planning to compete and complete the rescheduled Belfast River Rock Marathon on Sunday 3rd October 2021.
This will be my first one. Originally I had entered for May 2021 and was training well for it at the time, but then the world changed, and that put paid to that, and like most lost my mojo. But I've got it back. So between parenting and massaging full-time, I'm trying my best to fit in some training.
So, in the fear of sounding negative, I have little or no expectations for it! This way there is mininal pressure. Originally I'd said I'd love to run it all i.e no walking. But now I'm not going to put that pressure on myself as I've left it too late to prepare properly, but that is fine too.
What I can control is my physical and mental preparation. My Sports Massage routine leading into this will be important. I will be getting weekly Massage to ensure my body and mind are as fresh as possible. All these miles on the road take their toll on my 44 year old legs, knees, and feet. Who is my Massage Therapist I hear you ask? Who massages the Massage Therapist? Currently, I've been seeing an old school friend Mr. Mal Harris of 'Northern Ireland Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic' He's been fantastic.
So, to finish off this blog and to summarise. If you are planning to run a marathon like me. You will truly benefit big time by investing in your body by getting quality deep tissue massage. And look no further please than right here at my Massage Therapy clinic.
Thank you for your time and stay healthy.
